We already live in one of the best locations in Florida for cruising.

According to Google Maps, Ocala is approximately:
Port Tampa Bay: 1 hour 48 minutes
JAXPORT (Jacksonville): 2 hours 2 minutes
Port Canaveral: 2 hours 3 minutes
Think about that.
Within about two hours, you can reach three completely different cruise ports, each offering different cruise lines, ships, destinations, and experiences.
That's a huge advantage.

One mistake I see travelers make is choosing a cruise simply because it leaves from the closest port.
Sometimes that's the right decision.
But not always.
Driving an extra 15, 30, or even 60 minutes could mean:

The Closest Cruise Isn't Always the Best Cruise
This is where having a travel advisor makes a difference.
A booking website simply asks:
"Where do you want to leave from?"
I ask questions like:
Which ship fits your family?
Which itinerary excites you the most?
Which cabin gives you the best value?
Is driving another 30 minutes worth saving hundreds of dollars?
Is there a better cruise leaving from another port?
Those answers can completely change which vacation I recommend.
Living in Ocala Gives You Options
One of the biggest advantages of living in Central Florida is flexibility.
Instead of being limited to one cruise port, you have several excellent choices within a reasonable drive.
That means more ships.
More itineraries.
More cabin options.
And often...
Better prices.
